Got seven more rhizomes of six Iris in ground today. Only leaves a baker's dozen more to situate--all of them are going outbound next Spring, so I can make a group temporary spot for them and not hem, haw, and ponder about where to place them for permanent display.
Hurray! Hurray!

Off to the Races. Second rhizome of this one.

Cafe d'Amour. This poor Iris has had fits since I got it because it seems to intensely dislike clay soil. Thought it was gone altogether, but found a nubbin that put on some growth once potted. Hopefully, this new location in the sandy soil area will more to its liking--I'd like to see some blooms from it at some point. Big Grin

Sand Dancer. This one went into the holding pen because I might give it away next year. Have to see how the original rhizome does over winter.

Hold My Hand. Always hear Darius Rucker in my head when I see this name...I like Rucker, and I liked the original song, but I only hear the Sesame Street version they did of the song, now. Hilarious!

Species Germanica. Lost a bunch of this one to rot. Will see if any others pop up from the mud next year.

Pirate Ahoy. Had two pots of this one, with three rhizomes total. Experimented by putting one in the sidewalk strip. See if it can handle that soil and heat.
It’s okay to not know all the answers.
