Anyone remember laetrile? Decades ago, it was a compound made out of fruit seeds, supposed to cure cancer. I remember having patients who talked of going to Mexico to get it. I don't think it was ever available in the U.S.
Nonetheless, eating avocado pits doesn't tempt me.
