All my fat root / caudiciform morning glories I grew from seeds, except for Merremia aurea and Ipomoea bolusiana.
It is more fun to grow from seeds but lots of prayer is needed that the seed vendor or trader did not substitute species and that it does not take 8 years to see flowers.
