I am happy to take care of this. It should be moved as soon as a moderator approves my proposal.
Lin, regarding spotted plants on the Aloe vera page... "true" Aloe vera does have a few spots on its leaves when young (a feature of the juvenile form) but once it grows up, it mostly loses them. I have combed through the photos on that page and already moved about a dozen maybe which did not match the species. The story is complicated by the existence of a slightly smaller plant previously called Aloe vera chinensis, a different medicinal aloe (now called Aloe officinalis) with spots and orange/coral flowers, as well as the general misconception among novice aloe gardeners that any aloe can be Aloe vera (not considering the 500+ other species and their hybrids).
To be honest the ID of spotted aloes is a messy business and something I generally try to avoid. A lot of them fit under Aloe maculata (saponaria) but you usually need a flower to find a good match and even there, it's not straightforward. Your plant is quite similar and the flowers are pretty, but I'm afraid I can't help pin down a name beyond the genus.
