Since planting is being talked about--yesterday, I spent a couple hours removing my "Estonian Clematis--"Piilu" from the pot it has been in for several years. The blooming had declined in the past years-so I thought I may need to re-pot it. This was quite the procedure...
Digging out the trellis that had in the old pot--then the root-ball from the old pot---trimming back a bunch of skinny roots--finding a bigger pot to re-pot it in-- Filling the "new" pot with fresh soil (the one I had mixed up) and then, carefully, planting the Clematis and the trellis back in.
It went OK--and I am hoping that next spring it will have a better bloom show
than in the years past.
Swept up all the dirt--and cleaned up the patio--and it now looks like nothing was done there...
Other than this--I am staring at piles and piles of leaves to rake. Or NOT?
Never have finished trimming back the rest of my shrubs in front...etc...
Today was amazingly nice--of course--I was working inside most of the day.
