One of the last plants to bloom here are the chrysanthemums, mine is named Sheffield. Being one of the few plants blooming yet it kind of acts like a winged garden thing magnet.
Yesterday I came across this moth:
Thumb of 2016-11-01/jmorth/adb0b2 I've never seen it before.
It looks very similar to the Yellow Collared Scape Moth, which I see all the time; but without the white wing tips. I searched some on line but have yet to ascertain the identity.

Another unknown, this time on a dahlia - Thumb of 2016-11-01/jmorth/4ab0c5 note the red abdomen and fly-like eyes.
