The NM property sounds very nice, so you spend summers there and winters here? I had a nice greenhouse in WA, I loved it, here I only use those shelves with the plastic zip covers and the only time I use them is to start seed and if it is a particularly cold winter/spring I use them in the house to start seed and move them outside when appropriate.
So Karen do you do raised beds here too? I have a twin bed bed that I am thinking of taking apart and just using the ground space, it is too hard to keep watered in the summer. I also have a 2' X 4' X 2' raised box that has a 5 year old Jalapeno pepper shrub in it, it even survived our 4 day freeze...my husband will not let me take it out...ugh!!!
