We had the Dish people replace our box 3 times before we realized that it might have been the power fluctuations from lightning storms and other electric issues. Bought a UPS to keep the power surges away and haven't had an issue with it for 3 years now. The UPS was expensive but it sure beat waiting for a technician and having to miss some of the very few shows we actually enjoy on TV nowadays.

Teri ... I've mentioned this on other forums because most people don't know about them, but have you ever looked into having a whole house surge protector installed ?

Living in the mountains, lightening storms are the norm. Power surges are hard on all electronics and appliances even when you have surge protectors for each. Those surge protectors need to be replaced periodically because they lose effectiveness over time.

Your best insurance is a whole house surge protector. You can Google them and get more information that I can write here. They less expensive than any appliance than they will protect and worth every penny.

It's worth a look.
I'd rather weed than dust ... the weeds stay gone longer.
