. Winter is the toughest time for the plants. I hate fooling with them in the winter months, so nearly all of them are in survival mode. Your description sounds like the one in the basket is a Dipladenia rather than a Mandevilla. The leaves are smooth, the bloom is smaller than on the new one I got. Both of mine are red.
