How cute is this! Over the last few days with the weather being so nice and all, I've been outside a lot doing a variety of odds and ends to fall work. Turns out that I and a chipmunk have struck up quite a relationship. I'm busy doing my work and he's busy doing his. If I'm in the garden. he's in the garden. If I'm working on a table, he's on the table. If I take a break on the porch, so does he, as he smells the dirt on my shoes. He'll leave for a couple minutes, then return to see if I'm ready to go back to work. And, he's had every opportunity to steal bulblets and scales but not once did he ever touch a single one.. I've learned a lot about chipmunk life the last few days. .As long as he behaves, he's ok with me. Today he put some pumpkin seeds in my bowl of peat moss.
