No filtering is needed. I do suggest adding those items into it, because it is good for the skin & will keep longer. I recommend making it in small batches & keeping it sealed tight in a mason jar in the fridge. After cutting a leaf off the plant, that yellowish liquid that oozes out can cause irritations on the skin & will make you geel icky if ingested. That's why I rinse the leaf under water & let that yellow ick drain out. I'll get you some recipes that when prepared properly are ok to take internally. However, I always like to check with my doctor first.
