Yes, Callirhoe has cream-colored tap roots. The top of the roots shown in bonitin's link are on older plants. Younger plants' roots look more like cream carrots. I can't find a photo of Callirhoe involucrata roots at the moment, but the roots are similar to Callirhoe bushii which can be seen here,
