If you could let us know where you reside (Country, climate) it will assist others in giving informative answers.
Depending on where you reside. If it has gone or going dormant, then losing leaves is normal. You will not see growth coming back if it is dormant. When it breaks dormancy it will start again.

I am reluctant to give to much more with not having an idea of conditions given (climate, heat, sunlight) without it becoming a long read.
More than willing to help where I can and others will also.
