I am going to try out your tip today. But in my toaster oven on warm setting - heating it up right now, with a thermometer in it to be sure I have the correct temperature. Several of my bulbs have orange color spotted areas on them, which I think is a virus. I removed the diseased areas, and gave the bulb a weak bleach water bath for 2 hours. Now will try your tip. Probably nothing to lose at this point. Nothing ventured, nothing gained! Crossing Fingers!
