Just in case the potted ivy [i]doesn't[/u] adapt well to being moved indoors, you might take a few cuttings from tips.

You can strip the leaves from the lower few inches of the cutting and put them in a glass of water (or stick them into moist but very well aerated potting soil or vermiculite).

After they root, you can either start another pot, or, if the first plant died during the move, you could re-use the pot by moving the new cuttings into it. Hopefully by then it will be warm enough to move it back outside.
