JungleShadows said:Actually there is NO Jovibarba anymore. They are ALL Sempervivum. I do sneak a "J." on my nametags as there are several names used by BOTH groups. I have the semp 'Jade' and the heufff 'Jade' for example.

To distinguish them we should be calling them S. heuffelii 'Jade' as all of those are from that species alone.

OK off my soapbox.

Kevin

Not so fast... back on your soapbox for a minute. I wanna know this.

OK... so 'Blue Boy' is technically Sempervivum Sempervivum 'Blue Boy'
And... 'Lemon Sky' is technically Sempervivum Heuffelii 'Lemon Sky'

Is this correct genus/species/cultivar notation?
The term Jovibarba goes to the dustbin?
Sempervivum and Heuffelii are distinct species within the same genus?
