Velcro might work. I try to keep everything in the cabinets while traveling. Our shelves have a tiny lip on them, but it's not enough to keep everything from flying on to the floor during travel. Big pain! Hangers and clothing sometimes fall down in the closet. I think there is a type of bar that can fit down over the hangers to prevent it.
