Species Iris (Iris hexagona) are found here in Florida and I grew a few Dutch Iris (Iris 'Miss Saigon') when we lived farther north in the state but in the almost 50 years I've been in Florida, I've never seen those gorgeous bearded varieties in nurseries or garden centers.

Your comment got me googling and I found this page that says Bearded Iris can be grown even in south Florida! http://www.floridagardener.com...
