Yes - on leaving lilies in pots till fall...actually some were in their pots for 2 or 3 years before transplanted into garden, especially short ones like in the Tiny series.
I'd let them continue to receive light in their pot (to build up for next season) till transplanted in the fall.
My potted lilies form a walkway from the back door to the garage.

After they bloom, they go behind the garage on a concrete slab to continue to get sun and await disposition.

edited to add - Yes, too if died back, under house area should work till re-planted.
Nothing that's been done can ever be changed.
