Traditional planting times for daylilies are spring and autumn (at least 30 days before the first frost date). Even if Neal could dig now, I would wait for spring, Jan.

(Sez she who has several bareroot plants still soaking in tubs, which at this rate, won't get potted up until January... Whistling )
