I don't know about cars being much less work, I do know it was not as enjoyable for me as growing daylilies so it seemed like a lot more work! I admire Peter's enthusiasm and his finances!
Just doing the research to pick out so many daylilies in such a short period of time would overwhelm me. I have reached my goal of 200 named varieties and just trying to come up with a list of replacements for the culls is very time consuming. I am having to make a conscious effort to avoid Stamile daylilies, everything they grow seems to appeal to me, and I would really like to have more variety in the mix. With so many thousands to choose from, the hardest part seems to be picking out ones that have the traits I want and can still fit my limited budget.
