Thanks for the nice comments on the orb. I make them and metal christmas ornments during the winter to keep me from going stir crazy cuz I cant be out in the gardens .
As I said the metal bands are recycled material and I make them in all different sizes from 4.5 inches like this one which will be part of a double orb
to 24 inch diameter like this one which is hanging outside
( I am rusting it on purpose) and I will ultimately seal the rusted finish so it does not continue to rust . I have about a 1/2 dozen out there rusting as I write . LOL!
I also make them into bird feeders. They are all different which includes how many bands the orb can have The more bands the more intricate the finished orb . I have just finished one for myself that is wrapped with garland and lighted by battery operated xmas lights .
