I understand perfectly what you mean..go to the most remote corners of the world...read stories about the most primitive people ...some with no written language and yet find behaviors and beliefs that are very similiar.... worship...the golden rule...conservation....
In the seven daughters of eve ( different topic ) the author sees the connections...threads of sameness...leading out from one..to another to another.. I loved that book.
