I have no idea why, but I have nowhere near the Monarch - or any other type of butterfly, for that matter - activity this year. Perhaps just some natural cycle? (on the upside, not as many cabbage butterflies, either!) We do, however, have cicadas buzzing away this year, somewhat unusual here. Maybe all the terrible weather through the midsection of the country hampered the Monarch migration to our area this year?
