My attitude towards these deaths of entertainment figures is mostly life goes on, but for some like Gabor, who was not healthy, I am glad the misery is over,
As cold hearted as I amm yet at the same time a decade ago, Herbert Keppler a long time writer for a photo magazine died.
He was unknown except to those who were familiar with photography.
He wrote for Modern Photography and when that went belly up its main competitor Popular Photography.
He was there in the sixties and still there in the oughts.
Yet one day I bought an issue of Pop. Photo and saw he had died, I felt what you call true sadness; it hit me to the point that castigated myself for feeling that way for some one I never met, so I can see how some feel true sadness when some one not in their circle passes on.
