Happy new year everybody!

Temperatures here were fairly mild (about 2 to 10°C) until mid of last week. Now we're having temperatures of -3 to -5°C. No snow so far.

This year promises to be filled with new semp cultivars.

Seeds of about 175 different planned crosses (136) and insect pollinated cultivars (39) are out in my micro green houses since last Friday.
Last years seedlings are doing fine so far. A lot of greens so far - I'm still hoping for colours in spring. Crossing Fingers! There are about 250 survivors according to my latest counting, resulting from 18 planned crosses and 24 insect pollinated cultivars.
A total of 34 different types of seeds did not produce any viable seedling at all. A lot of them being sempervivum x jovibarba roller crossings.

This year I'm expecting a higher success rate as I concentrated on sempervivum x sempervivum crosses. Plus I'm starting earlier and will wait longer for transplanting to reduce losses (about 120 seedlings so far or about 30% - 2 sets of true leaves is no guarantee for survival as it seems) Crossing Fingers!
