I thought I had killed my ZZ plant about a year ago, all the leaves turned yellow and fell off. I couldn't bring myself to just toss it so I stuck it behind another pot on a terrace with more light and an open roof so it rains on it. Then I ignored it. About 4 months later I could see it was coming to life. I haven't watered it once until yesterday and now I'm worried that I might have jinxed it. It's been hot and dry with no rain for a week or more though and I was watering the pot next to it so I gave it some water too. It looked really dry. It's looking gorgeous now though, ignoring it and giving it more light and less water seems to have been the answer.
