It just occurred to me that I left a step out... around mid April I pot the seedlings up from the packs to 3" (I think) pots... with about 15 plants/pot. In part I do that just so I know how many plants I actually have at that point, and in part to give them a little more room to grow for the last month. (those are the ones in the 2nd photo in my post above)

Robyn, as far as the lights -- I have them on from 7:00 a.m. to 11 p.m. (approximately); again, that's with the T12 lights, I'm not sure if the same would be true with the newer types of bulbs.

And, again, this is all just how I do it; I'm sure other people grow onions from seed successfully that would disagree with some of my practices Whistling
