Enjoyed the podcast. It was good that you included the warning about Sharpies, they do fade fast. Anyone that prefers markers to pencils should try this special "garden marker" I have used for years. They write like a Sharpie, but don't fade in the sunlight. Some of my tags have been outside for 5+ years and are still readable. They do get lighter after a couple of years, but by that point the plastic tag is usually falling apart anyways. The price is all over the place on them and some places really jack it up, but they can be found for $2-$4 many places and last a long time. I like the finer tipped ones because my labels are small and I cram a lot of info on them. Like Sharpies these can be easily wiped off with a little rubbing alcohol and a rag if you make a mistake or want to re-use a tag.

Many people also use paint pens, but they take a while to dry and many have fumes that aren't great to breathe in.
