By the way, your new plant, Salvia elegans 'Elk Sonoran Red'; I just submitted it as a new plant to the database and you mentioned on your website that it "....blooms much earlier in the season than the traditionally grown clone." How early? I have it on the database that it starts blooming late summer or early fall. Does it start blooming mid summer? I didn't want to list that until I found out from you.

Red Pineapple Sage (Salvia elegans 'Elk Sonoran Red')

Thanks!

No, it is a late summer / fall bloomer. Not mid-summer. Six weeks or so earlier than the regular Salvia elegans, but likely too late outside Zones 7 - 11. We did not trial it in colder Zones. We'll see what sort of success our colder area customers have this year.
