I have used bone meal in the hole when I first plant them, and then side dress with a balanced fertilizer in the spring when they just start to show signs of new growth. That's it, nothing more. Once the temps stay above freezing for a week or so, I treat for borers. I think those who are into re-bloomers fertilize after bloom.
