You wont kill the edgeworthia ( paperbush ) and it will scent for 2-3 weeks ..if you bring a few in the house..the fragrance will waft and surprise. But truly, when not in bloom....nah... I would not put them in a prime visual piece of garden real estate. The daphne ( to me ) are beautiful regardless.
Years ago a wise neighbor said.." 0h, you bought a daphne...you will suffer heartbreak in a few years.."

Here is edgeworthia this morning..in bloom..I have them tucked around a deck. Once the flowers go...long green dull oval leaves will sprout from the tips..you can see some sprouting
