Purple Maze "lived" here but it certainly did not look like that. I bought mine directly from Mort, in bloom, so I am sure it was the correct plant. Mine was quite a bit more narrow, and not nearly as rich in color. When I bought it, John Rice was overwintering a lot of things for David and Mort while they completed their move to KY. While I was staying that weekend, I actually helped move pots onto a trailer as they took them to their new garden. So, the blooms I was first seeing were in John's greenhouse. Even this did not look as round and lush and rich as the ones at Bill's. The growing conditions, soil, and care must create perfect conditions out there! ( is this why Stamile chose California to move to? )
