When I was in first grade, which would have been 1966-67 school year, I think... Mom made our paste and sent it to school with us, and my teacher didn't like it and wouldn't let me use it. I think she was a city gal, and didn't know paste could be made at home. To her, paste came in little white jars with orange spreaders.
