I've been doing this with 2nd grade classes for several years.
The kids use their veggie lunch scraps, banana peels, apple cores etc to feed the worms.
We use the compost at years end for their Mother's Day upside down tomato plants.
Gardening is cheaper than therapy and you get tomatoes. ~Author Unknown
