I just ordered a copy of the book.
I've tried to plant ten pineapple tops, and they all died. I tried twisting off the top, peeling leaves back to the little roots, and sticking it in potting soil. Died.
Tried the same thing in water. Died.
Tried cutting off an inch of the whole fruit with the top. Some with rooting powder, and some without. They don't look great, but I still see a bit of green left.
Am now trying one with an inch of fruit, cut off the fruit leaving the root, and then letting it dry out for a week in the dark before planting.
