So to lend out a little bit of info.... to anyone who is thinking they have Hosta Fever. This is what I did when planting my potted Hosta into the ground. I save hundreds of pots.

I would buy a potted Hosta plant and immediately find another pot that was 2 or 3 times larger than the one it came in and transplant the Hosta from the small pot to the large pot and add good soil to make sure the Hosta roots had plenty of room to grow.

I mixed a little bit of coffee grounds, milorganite, and dried alfalfa grinds into the potted soil.

Then I would plant the larger pot right into the ground and cover it with pine needles or dried crushed Autumn leaf confetti.
