So I have an update. I was gone two weeks, watered it thoroughly before Ieft. When I came back, this is what it looked like. What little new growth there was was all shrivelled.

I'm thinking of taking it out of the pot again, and soaking the rootball in a bucket until it loosens up. I also observed it doesn't get a lot of direct sunlight in its current location, it spends most of the day in the shade.
