Joanna, this is pretty typical of a lot of bulb plants. They usually green up after a few days of sunshine. I think its the parts that have been underground and the chlorophyl hasn't developed yet, and bulbs grow so quickly when spring arrives that the yellow growth shows first. The tips that look a little brown may have been exposed to some extreme cold, but should still be fine.
