Rosie, your "steak soup" sounds delish!

Here's the Meyer Lemon Cream Cheese Pound Cake Recipe. The Cream Cheese, butter and eggs should be at room temperature

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

8 oz Cream Cheese
1 lb unsalted butter
3 cups of sugar
6 eggs
3 cups flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
2 tsp vanilla
1 tsp almond essence
Zest of 1 Meyer lemon 🍋

Glaze
3/4 cup confectioners sugar
Juice from 1 Meyer lemon
1/2 tsp almond essence

Cream the butter and cream cheese together until smooth.
Add the 3 cups of sugar and cream for 5-7 minutes in the mixer. Add eggs individually and mix each in well. Add the vanilla and almond essence and mix, then the flour 1/3 portion at at time, and the lemon zest and mix well. Grease and flour or use Pam Baking spray with flour to prepare 2 loaf pans 8x4 inches or a bundt pan, pour the batter into the pan(s), tap pan(s) on the counter to remove air bubbles, and bake at 350 for 45 minutes to 1 hour until done. Allow the cake(s) to cool.

For the glaze mix the confectioners sugar and lemon juice until smooth, then add the almond essence.

Brush the glaze over the cakes and enjoy!

Is it bad that I had dessert before dinner? Whistling
