Blood Root likes shade, and at least mildly acidic soil. Seeds are pulpy and soft and do not store. Transplant your seed direct to shallow pans and over-winter outdoors.

If you are starting them remote from their growing site, use root divisions early in the spring.

Looks orchid-y to me. Big flower little leaves,
