I planted a bag of mixed tulip bulbs last fall and one of the bulbs produced the flower that you see in the attached pictures. The foliage looked just like a regular tulip when it started to come up, but then it branched out and has at least a dozen small tulip-like flowers on it – mostly white, but some are pink.

Has anyone seen anything like this? What causes bulbs to morph?
