Evening earth lovers,
Well its been ok weatherwise here in france today, not hot but just nice for doing outside work,

After the morning "Walkies" ive spent all day in the garden and greenhouse,
As is the norm i never do half as much as i'd like to do,
im still clearing the box border hedging area "but having said that this border is approx 80 feet long
So im sure you'll understand it's a long slow job if you intend to do it properly (all weed & bramble roots out)

Ive made the edges of the border wider as ive gone along, so all this helps give anyone a good bit of back ache. Rolling my eyes.
Why is it that weeds will take all winter can chuck at it and still thrive!!!
Ive found brambles growing its roots entwined in the box hedge roots and some of these roots really do take some digging to get the complete system out.
Ive the quano fertilizer ready to feed the box roots when ive got all the weeds out and the box is clear of them,
QUANO, is a really good feed for root systems and ive used it for many years, its bird dropppings made into pellets and you dont need to use very much,
Ive also got my home made comphrey plant leaves working away to make yet another very good natural feed for all plants trees and shrubs, this is in a 45 gal oil drum full of water, the leaves are in a large sack weighted down with a few rocks inside the sack to keep it down in the water,
It takes approx 10 days for the mix to be ready for use at a 10parts water to 1 part comphrey mix for watering the bottom of the plants etc (dont water the leaves just the roots area) you can do the same idea using nettles, but warning the smell while both these methods are rotting down can be strong so put your mixing drum away from the noses of friends etc.
TIP think about feeding your hedges once a year "not many people do" and any bulbs or shrubs planted near to hedges suffer because the hedges take all the good out of the soil nearest to hedges and anythig else suffers due to lack of food, so feed the hedges.
Well time for a shower and a night cap to ease the stiff joints (well thats my excuse Whistling )
Good night to you all and remember you only pass this way once in your life so enjoy it Angel
