I just received a small bag of Lycoris squamigera (naked ladies, resurrection lily, surprise lily, magic lily).

I have been creating beds with living mulches like sedums, ice plants, & thyme. I have heard these lilies are pretty stout. Would they be stout enough to force their way up through sedum tiles? If not, any of the others above?
Always looking for interesting plants for pollinators and food! Bonus points for highly, and pleasantly scented plants.
