I was going to re-pot brugmansias today, and clean up my backyard! For so long it's been too hot to even go outside after 9 AM. We're experiencing a thermal inversion, however, where the cool air closer to the ground is trapped by the warmer air above. All the smokey pollutants are prevented from dispersing. Not good for anyone to be outside for very long today. There's so much smoke in the air that people are thinking there's another fire and reporting it to the fire depts.
