I have a sentimentality about poppies esp the corn poppy, but ice never been good growing anything from seeds.
But I decided to try a container with some seeds and I filled the directions but I now have hundreds of sprouts in this small container. I used way too many seeds I guess. And they sprouted very quick.. 6 days. But now I basically have grass..lol it's thick and they are about an inch high and seem to have stopped growing so fast but they are not dying off.. At least not yet. I have them in a very cool environment about 72 degrees in a very bright and for a few hours more directed sun window. Its been about 3 weeks now. I'm unsure whether to leave them alone or cut down parts. I was told not to pull any out for it may hurt the poppy roots next to them. And I'm unsure how much to ten down or how I should thin out at all really. I hate to do it but I think they maybe not growing anymore because they are fighting for nutrients etc.
And any ideas on watering? I haven't watered from the top except heavy misting at first then I had used a long wide container with watering holes in the side so I'm doing that mostly but I have a horrible tendency to over water everything. Any advice on all this is greatly appreciated.
Thanks guys and gals!
