I cut up some of my old hoses into short lengths, like 15-20 feet. That calls for a lot of "hose repair" kits, and they vary widely in quality.

Then I attach those short lengths to some 3/4" and 1/2" "irrigation mainline" that I've run around my yard, using Tee fittings and also Y-shaped hose fittings with two valves each. Those can be plastic, pot metal or brass, from $2.50 to $10 each.

Then I put a hand-sprayer on each short length of hose. That lets me spot-hand-water anyplace, with only a few steps to get to the nearest hose length.

Now I NEVER have to drag a hose ANYWHERE, and I have irrigation mainline wherever I want to add a sprayer, spinner, "Shrubbler" or dripline.
