Thank you so much for the information. I have raised yellow poppies in zone 7B in GA. I guess ignorance is bliss. I thought they needed good fertilizer, water, and sunshine to grow. I did start them in a pot. It took about two years, but they finally bloomed. I had a large pot of them. I decided to plant them in my garden bed. That was the beginning of the end for them. They started declining and finally died.

I will try your strategy the next time I decide to grow some. I still have poppy seeds that I haven't used yet.
