That's terrible...and many, many people didn't have time to get all their pets and livestock before they left. There's probably a lot of them that got burned...not to mention the poor wildlife, too! My sister has been posting on Facebook about animal rescue groups or shelters near fire zones that had to evacuate all their animals. All the animal shelters and animal foster families in Texas are even more overwhelmed than normal. DS and her daughter are big animal rescue activists.
I would feel more optimistic about a bright future for man if he spent less time proving that he can outwit Nature and more time tasting her sweetness and respecting her seniority. E. B.White
