@Legalily, Ginny, I usually live-head by breaking the bloom backward. I have been known to have a few unopened blooms fall off when the live bloom snaps off, but that is rare. I also rarely live-head unless I know I will be taking pictures the next morning.

For some reason, this year when when I deadhead the next day, instead of breaking away, the bloom just bends and does not want to break off. Not sure if it is the weather, but we have gone 6 weeks with only two-tenths of an inch of rain.
